EVALUATION

Your grade for this course will be based on your successful completion of the following:

A TOTAL OF 303 POINTS CAN BE EARNED DURING THIS CLASS

Examinations (50%): 3 tests over each module = 150 points (50 pts. each exam).
Comprehensive final exam (20%): 60 points.
Internet site reviews (A total of 15 reviews) (15%): 45 points (3 pts. each site).
Experiences (A total of 12 experiences) (6%): 18 points (1.5 pts. each experience).
Critical Thinking Experiences (A total of 3 CTEs) (10%): 30 points (10 points each).

EXPERIENCES:
Complete a total of 12 experiences over the next 11 weeks. Four experiences are required for each module.  You may submit your experiences at any time while we are covering each module (refer to calendar).  It is highly recommended that you read the chapter that precedes each experience.  The purpose of the experiences is to allow you to "feel" the concepts and principles of social psychology through active participation.  Experiences will give you some "hands on experience."  After you have completed an experience, submit your responses to me.  When submitting responses, be sure to include the name of each experience as well as its chapter reference.  When specific questions are asked, be sure to type out the question(s), followed by your answer(s). Be sure to SPECIFICALLY LABEL all submissions with your name and the Chapter Number. Include the title of your experience as well.  An experience submission should read as follows: Experience, Ch. #, Title.

INTERNET SITES:
I have included in each chapter, one or more hot linked social psychology related Web sites that you may find of interest/relevance.  Visit 15 sites during the semester.  5 sites per module are required. After you visit a site, send me 20 to 30 lines of information describing what you found. In your review include your evaluative comments. Whenever possible, incorporate text material into your review by applying relevant theoretical concepts.  If a site "dies" during this semester, choose an alternative site. There are over 20 sites listed for this class.  A couple of dead sites should not interfere with your Internet review responsibilities. Be sure to SPECIFICALLY LABEL all submissions with your name and the Chapter Number. Include the URL of the site visited as well.  A heading for a web review should look as follows: Web Rev., Ch. #, Title.

TESTS:
There will be a 45-50 item multiple-choice test at the end of each module and a 60 item COMPREHENSIVE FINAL EXAM will conclude the course.  Exams will be taken on-line through the ANGEL Learning System.

Please note that grade determination is based on the "absolute scale" method where A = 90-100% (272-303 pts.); B = 80-89% (242-271 pts); C = 70-79% (212-241); D = 60-69% (182-211).

CRITICAL THINKING EXERCISES: Every two weeks a critical thinking question will be posed to all students.  Students will need to respond to these questions based on relevant web sites, chapter readings, and additional readings that I will be posting to all students.
